Canada Day Dance: Featuring the Douglas/Skonberg Quartet!*
We're excited to announce amazing musical guests for our Canada Day
celebration: Bria Skonberg and Solomon Douglas! Not only are they both
Canadian, they're two of Canada's favourite jazz artists for swing dancing!
Piano player and Lindy Hopper Solomon Douglas has been leading swing bands
across the US and Canada for years, achieving particular note for his live
performances and CD releases with his Solomon Douglas Swingtet.
Bria is an award-winning vocalist and trumpet player from Vancouver whose
work with numerous bands--beginning with the 51st Eight--made her a
sensation on the West Coast.
The "Douglas/Skonberg Quartet" includes Solomon Douglas on piano, Bria
Skonberg on trumpet/vocals, Eric Heveron-Smith on bass, and D'Vonne Lewis on
drums.
