As some of you might be aware, the Ottawa Swing Dance Society's TEN YEAR anniversary is fast approaching! Have you been involved since the beginning or are you a relative newbie to the scene? Whether you're 17 or 75, whether you're an Ottawa native or you've just moved here, we want to hear from you!
In honour of our tenth anniversary, we're having a design contest to see what the OSDS represents to you. Designs should incorporate Ottawa, dancing, and fun, but from there on in, it's up to you : ) Please keep in mind that we're looking for an image that can be shown in colour or in black and white, and can be manipulated to fit a range of sizes (very detailed images might not be easy to shrink).
The competition will be judged by a committee consisting of the OSDS exec and local dancer and graphic designer, Robyn. The winning theme will be used on t-shirts, an updated website (yay!), business cards, etc. As well as seeing their image on all OSDS bling, the winning designer will also collect TWO complimentary passes to our Tenth Anniversary dance (more exciting details to be announced soon!)
Designs can be submitted to me in person or by pdf to this address: osdsdesign@gmail.com . In order to ensure anonymity in the decision process, we ask that you include your name and contact info
-on a separate sheet (with both the info and the image in an envelope), if submitting in person
-or in the email but not attached to the image, if submitting online.
Please note that some polishing / minor changes may be necessary to ensure that the winning design has a professional look that the OSDS can use in our tenth year and beyond. Robyn, as our resident graphic designer, will be assisting us in this capacity.
Due date for submission is midnight, Friday, April 24, 2009.
